: Developer license question

Hello,

I have a question about a part of the terms of service for the developer membership license:

In the terms when it says this: "Developer membership template installations must renew their Developer account if they wish to continue using Shape 5 products after their Developer membership has expired,"

does that mean if I use one template to build a site now and I don't use any other templates for a year, when my one year membership is up, I have to renew the developer's license for another year just to be allowed to keep that one site up that is using a shape 5 template?

In other words, I'm trying to understand if when I sign up for a developer's license, does that mean that I have to keep paying that developer's license fee every year, regardless of whether or not I use any more template from Shape 5. Or does that line in the Terms simply mean that if I wish to continue using Shape 5 templates for another year, to build other new sites, then I have to renew my membership?

If it is the former, than this seems kind of crazy to me. It makes it seem like I will have to keep paying $225 every year just to have a single site up that is using your template. Even if I had five sites up, or 10 sites up, committing to paying $225 every year just to be able to use your templates seems like a lot. I've not seen this in other template club terms before.

Am I misunderstanding something?

Thanks a bunch,
Forest

Forest,

I am very sorry for the confusion. We changed that policy a while back and I thought we had updated all the pages. You do not need to renew your membership to continue using the products with you or your clients. Forum support and products will be the only things to end at the end of your membership.

Again, sorry for the confusion; I've updated the page.
