Title: Doctype problem on all sites after updating to Joomla 2.5.3
Post by: freakalala on March 30, 2012, 03:28:24 PM
After updating any of my sites using Shape5 templates to Joomla 2.5.3, when you go to the site first you see DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">, then the page loads but message remains in background.

I checked the template index.php files and the doctype begins with <! yet obviously this is not being recognized? Not sure. Please advise as I can't have this happening to every site.

Hello,

Please post your question in the forum board pertaining to the template that you are using so we can address a specific template.

I just said all templates which means I am using multiple. This is the Joomla section right? I do not want to go through all my sites and then post in each and every template. Is this also a siteshaper issue? Two of the sites used siteshapers (obviously different ones).

Never mind. Issue solved. To anyone else having this problem after updating, it most likely is not caused by the template or Joomla. I just happen to use a lot of Shape5 templates because I like them.

Check your plugins. If you are using Bye Bye Generator and upgrade to Joomla 2.5.3, uninstall this plugin and install the latest update.
