Hi,

Can you tell me which of your template can be customized to obtain something similar to my needs.

I'm looking for a template with à fixed width left column and a flexible width main content.

The left column will be used to show the site logo and the general navigation menu for the entire genealogical portal.

The main content will be used to show pages generated by integrated genealogy, wiki and photo gallery softwares.

The top of the main section should be used only for a menu leaving as much place as possible for the main content.

You can visit my actual site for an idea of what I'm looking for:  http://bergeroy.net/joomla

The douxla template I'm using now is not supported anymore and I need some adjustements.

Thank you

Hi, we have several templates with fluid width but almost all of our templates allow you to set your own width for the site through the template configuration. Was there a particular template you were interested in?

Thanks for your reply.

The Duo Plate with the chuch theme seems interesting.

I'm using Joomla 1.5.

My menu would be displayed on the left.  I don't need the top sliders neither the top module position.

The top logo would be display at far left.  Maybe the logon module would be inside the top tab. What appears to be a paper sheet (inside which we see the menu and the main content in the demo) would be extended full width and flexible with the browser window width.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I need to be sure I can use the Duo Plate template to obtain what I described in my last post.  Especialy concerning the flexible width of the background we see on the church theme demo.

If you can confirm that my goals are reachables, I expect that the forum will help me to do the needed adjustments.

Thank you

Hi, the Duo Plate template doesn't have fluid width it has flexible width; meaning you can set the widths of the page, body and columns to whatever width you wish. The sliders and the top position can easily be hidden; there is a setting in the template configuration where you can tell them to not be shown. If you look at the demo and then under Features look at Collapse Header Area for an example of this.

Hi,

What are the templates that support fluid width ? Is there any of those that can support a fixed width left column and a fluid width right column ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi the ones with fluid width are eWorld, Bliss, User Choice and Your Store. The only one you can set your own column widths with is User Choice, but they are set to a pixel width not fluid.
