Hi,

I'm really interested in becoming a member. I own a dozen of websites and some of them could really use an upgrade. Although there is a lot of information to be found on the shape5 website about their joomla and phpbb3 templates, it is still far from enough for me.

My websites are pretty heavy, and I use a lot of modules, plugins etc that I want to test in the templates first.

for example:  I like the pop-up video feature from comaxium (top right) but is it also possible to link the items to the "read more" before showing the video?

Can I share a database of users between the templates and php33 forum? I only want my users to login once, not twice.

If I pay for a membership, am I allowed to remove the "Copyright ? 2010. Comaxium. Designed by Shape5.com Joomla Templates " text in the footer?

How does the template go with caching plugins and how heavy is it for my server?

Do I have to pay for two memberships if I want both a joomla template and a phpbb3 template?

and many many more things I need to ask and test. Is there a way for me to download the premium templates for a test run? If I'm satisfied with the results, i'll be vhappy to pay for a membership.

Regards,

Chris Thomassen.

Hello,

The popup vidoe feature is a scrip that is built into the template itself. The script can be used on links and images. So you can have a read more link and an image after the read more that would have the link to the video.

There are several components that allow you to bridge phpbb and joomla together found here:

http://extensions.joomla.org/search?q=PhpBB

You may modify the copyright information however you need.

If you require Joomla and PhpBB you would need to signup for two memberships, they are separate clubs. You can add the other on for a 15% discount.

I am sorry we do not offer trial versions of our products but if you run into problems we will be here to help in the forums.

Okay if I can't test the theme I'll just bombard you with questions  Grin I hope you can answer these!

1. When making an article, how does it work with the thumbnails? I see many different image sizes on the front page, do they get cropped to the correct size automatically or do I have to upload different sizes myself?
2. Can the menu be altered? As in "Return Home" under "Home". I would like to simply show "Home" and not the text below and make the menu more flattened.
3.  If I make a picture gallery with 100 pics, how will this be achieved? Do I have to alter the "menubox code" 100 times or can I upload a whole folder from the backend and let it create a gallery for me?
4. How heavy will a gallery containing 100 HD pics be for the server? Does it support sprites to reduce server load?
4. Lightbox video popup, can it be any size I like?
5. Can I remove the Shape5 copyright link when purchasing the theme?
6. Where are the comments? Can these be enabled and shown on the front page with the read more?
7. Can I switch back to the basic Joomla Hits/readmore/comments style? Instead of the huge read more button?
8. SEO optimized: Content is called before the side colums which is great. But how about friendly URL's? When hovering " read More" buttons you get links like these: http://www.shape5.com/demo/comaxium/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=189:the-new-detective-duo-in-town&catid=57:frontpage. Can these be altered so they only hold the category/section/title?
9. Colour presets. Can I edit the presets to my liking? As in making the menu white instead of black, give titles a specific # colour code etc.
10. The search function: is it possible to search in specific sections or categories instead of all sections/all categories?

I'll might as well tell you now, I might want to use the theme for the Numaga.com website so you get a rough idea of what I need. But still, I would like a live test! Isn't there a way to do this?

Regards,

Chris

1. When making an article, how does it work with the thumbnails? I see many different image sizes on the front page, do they get cropped to the correct size automatically or do I have to upload different sizes myself?

--- You would need to upload separate images for thumbnails. These work like any other images in an article where you upload them and stlize them.

2. Can the menu be altered? As in "Return Home" under "Home". I would like to simply show "Home" and not the text below and make the menu more flattened.

--- The sub text of the menus are not required and you can change them to whatever you need.

3.  If I make a picture gallery with 100 pics, how will this be achieved? Do I have to alter the "menubox code" 100 times or can I upload a whole folder from the backend and let it create a gallery for me?

--- I would recommend looking on extensions.joomla.org for an image gallery component that would fit your needs.

4. How heavy will a gallery containing 100 HD pics be for the server? Does it support sprites to reduce server load?

--- This is something that would need to be done through a component as mentioned above. 100 pictures is a lot but if you categorize them correctly not all will be loaded at the same time.

4. Lightbox video popup, can it be any size I like?

--- If you are referring to our multibox they are all set to a specific size.

5. Can I remove the Shape5 copyright link when purchasing the theme?

--- Yes, you can remove this.

6. Where are the comments? Can these be enabled and shown on the front page with the read more?

--- Comments are not a built in feature of Joomla. You would need to install a component like jcomments to do this.

7. Can I switch back to the basic Joomla Hits/readmore/comments style? Instead of the huge read more button?

--- I am sorry, I am not sure what you are referring to.

--- You can use the built in Joomla SEO features to for better SEF urls or there are third party components at extensions.joomla.org that will allow you to manage them better.

9. Colour presets. Can I edit the presets to my liking? As in making the menu white instead of black, give titles a specific # colour code etc.

--- Most templates are created by images so you would need to modify the images that make up that area. We do include the original psd's to help with this.

10. The search function: is it possible to search in specific sections or categories instead of all sections/all categories?

--- This is the default search functionality with Joomla, you cannot do this with this extension. There may be a third party extension that allows for this.

Thanks for the reply. It's all pretty clear now but with the multibox you say it's all set to a specific size, I want to know if I can easily change this? I think the size for the video is too small, especially with HD videos.

Also is the theme Joomla 1.6 ready? Will it be supported?

And I couldn't help noticing: the new theme Phosphorus, you can download a trial version. Could you please offer a trial version of Comaxium as well? I just don't feel like buying something I cannot test thoroughly... Not being able to adjust and test the theme to my liking in a live environment on my server is the only thing holding me back from buying a membership really.

Please consider... I need a premium theme and I'm stuck with a deadline. If there is no way for me a get a trial version here, I would have to find another theme that does hand out trial versions, while liking this theme the most  Undecided

Hello,

The size of the video cannot be changed, it is built directly into the script.

1.5 templates will not work with 1.6, they use a slightly different integration. All of our templates will be converted to 1.6 once stable versions are released.

Phosphorus does not have a trial version for download, this button is merely for demo content. I am sorry, but we do not offer trial versions of our products.

Thanks for answering. The theme is pretty much useless for me without those options so I guess I wish you guys good luck and maybe we'll meet in the future.

Chris.
