Do you have trouble remembering where each module position is? Have you ever looked at the different module position names that Joomla will list for you, and still scratch your head as to where they go on the page? Do you know where you want a module to be positioned, yet you can't remember if it is user7 or advert3, or something else? Here is the secret to answer those questions, and makes a handy reference as you lay out your site. Add "?tp=1", without the quotes, to your site's location/URL. In my case it would look like the following:

http://www.informationsearch.biz/?tp=1

If you use dual monitors (or more) you can open this in another browser (or browser window), have it displayed on a second screen, and use it to assign the correct positions to the modules in the other window. It even uses the context from the main page of your site, so you can see how you are doing. Just refresh the window once in a while.

I hope that at least one other person finds this as helpful as I do. Sorry, I can't remember where I picked up this tip, yet even so, I can't claim credit for it.

This has got to be the very top tip I have had for J! yet. Thank you very much.

If anyone else out there has good tips for J! maybe you could add them here.
