I am using the bridge of hope template. About half way down the page under where it says "latest news and updates" there are events listed. I was hoping to get these events to auto update somehow. I want to have a calendar on my site that lists the info for the events. I would like the calendar info to auto update to the "latest news and updates" area. Is there a plugin for this?

If you search for "RSS Feed" on the "add plugin" page, you should find a few different options for widgets that will auto-update with the latest items from an RSS feed.  There may also be some calendar widget options.

Those items on the demo are just Custom Menu widgets, but you should be able to find a plugin that gives you the widget(s) you want.

I was hoping to find a less generic answer. My understanding of RSS feeds is that they come in from outside sources, so I could use an RSS feed to look at the calendar my page and update the upcoming evens section on my home page?

Are you hoping for a widget that uses ical feeds to display upcoming events from a hosted calendar?

Try this: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-ics-importer/
