Hi,

I created a database, unzipped the siteshaper files in a folder in htdocs. the folder has the same name as the database.
when type in the browser "http://localhost/Prestige_Academy/administrator"  the url changes direct into "http://localhost/Prestige_Academy/installation/index.php"   The configuration screen opens, as where I can give in the website name, email, admin name and passwords..however, clicking on next to go to the "database the installation don't go any further.
When clicking on next the message "processing, please wait" shows  but nothing happens.

When I delete the siteshaper files and replace them with the Joomla 3.2.3 files the installation continues as normal, so the database must be  created correct.

Kind regards

Hello,

1) What program are you using for your local host? I would suggest WAMP for this if you are on Windows or MAMP for MAC
2) Have you setup the PHP version correctly for your Joomla Version?
3) Make sure MagicQuotes GPC is set to OFF

Also make sure that you don't have any upload limits set on the local machine.

hi, Windows 7,  XAMPP latest version.
installing Joomla 3.2.3 is no problem. plain S5 templates also running good.
When Joomla 3x is running is that no indication that it is also the right version ?
if not..where can I find it to chance it.
I will search for magic quotes if they are off, I will also search for the upload limits.

But on the other hand...when u advise WAMP that maybe would be better to switch to that immediatly.
I will give that a try in the morning.

thanks, I will let u know how that worked out.

Hello,

A lot of users I have talked to have issues with Joomla and XAMPP. All our developers use WAMP or MAMP and we have never had any issues. Let me know how that works for you.

Hi

I installed WAMP and it was a struggle to get it working for me. I had to modify some things in the php.ini as u said.
But the the tables would't install.. After a search on the web I found this:

Quote
To solve this go to wamp\www\Your joomla folder\installation\sql\mysql and open Joomla.sql file find the term

"ENGINE=InnoDB" and replace ALL with  "ENGINE=MyIsam"

MyIsam is more supported and compatible with Joomla.

This worked well for me, now the siteshaper is installed and showing and running on my local machine.

I wanted to see if XAMPP worked the way it suppose the way because I coundn't stand that it wasn,t working properly.
For Joomla 3x the previous version on XAMPP is better (1.8.2) ., with editing a few lines and increasing the limits it workes fine now.
