Hi, my site is not functioning properly. The post show up on main page, but when you click to bring you to direct url link, nothing shows up. Also, when you click on the 'tweet' button to tweet the link, it gives incorrect heading, but correct url. Help, please.   Example link: http://versedonline.com/v2/mommy-moments-chrisitna-aguilera-shows-baby-bump-while-recording/

In WP admin under Settings->Permalinks, click "Save" to force WP to re-generate the file that lets the URLs function correctly.

Through 3 hrs of sitting and analyzing the site, I think I've figured out what the problem is.

Plugin conflict. The reason why I didn't pick that up right away is because I was using the plugin for a while without any issues, up until yesterday.

Hi Mike,

I've actually been dealing with these issues for months now and have been trying to work on them and figure it out. Issues are:

1) Login/Register: I was forced to get a plugin because I was unable to get the Login/Register to function properly since last year. I'd like to remove this plugin, so I can use the themes option. Can you please assist?

2) The 'read more' function doesn't function properly on the homepage. I've been trying to work on this since last yr, but to no avail. Would definitely like to get this working before the years out, lol. Would love your help with this.

3) I'm trying to hide the tags and 'posted in' that appears on the homepage so it can have a cleaner look. Can you please assist with this as well?

I'm using the Shape 5 Sienna Theme: http://versedonline.com/v2 ...

Thanks in advance!

To have the login and register popup for the theme work, you need to have the S5 Box plugin installed and widgets placed in the Login and Register positions.  You also need text configured in the theme options to show as the button text.

The theme doesn't include a login or register form to be placed in those positions, you will still need a different plugin for that.

2) The 'read more' function doesn't function properly on the homepage. I've been trying to work on this since last yr, but to no avail. Would definitely like to get this working before the years out, lol. Would love your help with this.

The read more buttons work fine for me, so could you give more information about what you're saying doesn't work?

3) I'm trying to hide the tags and 'posted in' that appears on the homepage so it can have a cleaner look. Can you please assist with this as well?

The post tags and categories can be disabled on the edit screen for each individual post (You may need to enable "Shape 5 Options" on the "Screen Options" tab in the top right corner of the editor screen).  There is currently no option to change the default setting for those options, but I am planning to add that feature in the future, I just don't have a timeframe for that change yet.

Ok. The current login/register form that I'm using, do I place it in the Login and Register positions as well? If so, would I be able to delete it from the right side panel, where I currently have it on the site?

Right now, the entire post shows on the homepage(s) ... I would like to have the summary/excerpts so the 'read more' can serve its purpose. Sorry, that's what I meant by the 'read more' doesn't work.

Ok. Just to see if I understand, right now, I have to go back individually to each posts and change that option manually? There's no way to do that automatically for all posts?

Yes.  If you place the Login/Register forms in the Login/Register positions and assign text to those positions in the theme options, then the buttons will show the forms and you won't need the sidebar widget.

Right now, the entire post shows on the homepage(s) ... I would like to have the summary/excerpts so the 'read more' can serve its purpose. Sorry, that's what I meant by the 'read more' doesn't work.

Do you have the site set to show a summary on pages with multiple posts (Settings -> Reading)?  All the code is there to make it use the post excerpt, if one exists, but if it's not working correctly, there are plugins that will auto-generate an excerpt for you so you don't have to type one in.

Ok. Just to see if I understand, right now, I have to go back individually to each posts and change that option manually? There's no way to do that automatically for all posts?

Unfortunately, no, there's no automatic way to change all posts, but I definitely want to add a global override for it in the next major patch, I just have to wait for some admin changes that are currently being worked on by another developer.
