Hi.

After a new WordPress installation and then an immediate installation of the Paradigm Shift theme, I get this error message:

"/home1/recsol/public_html/rs-new-wp/wp-content/uploads/vertex.json is not writable. Please ensure that it is writable before saving. You may need to increase the chmod permission settings to 775 of this file, you can do this through any standard ftp agent."

I have checked my /wp-content/uploads/ folder and there are no files in there at all, including the vertex.json file.

Can I ftp the appropriate file(s) to the /wp-content/uploads/ folder in order to correct this problem?

The reason there are no files in that folder is because you don't have the permissions set high enough ? that's what the error means.  You can solve the issue by using your FTP client to change the folder permissions of your wp-content/uploads folder.

Thanks for that solution. It would be nice though if the permissions were already set by default.

Default permissions are something that is set by your server host and isn't something that can be controlled by the code in the PHP.
