I keep getting the attached error on my site  http://www.actionfigurenexus.com/index.php (sometimes it takes many minutes for it to appear) but I just noticed that I get the same error when I leave the Shape 5 demo of the same template open in a window for awhile as well. Inevitably the browser freezes and quits..

Here's the location of the "trouble" script:
http://www.shape5.com/demo/gamers/media/jui/js/jquery.min.js
(displayed as http://www.shape5.com/demo/gamers/media/jui/js/jquery.min.js:2 in the dialogue box)

I got this error upon installing the S5 Siteshaper files as well as after upgrading to 3.4.1. I get this error across multiple browsers.

Debugging just opens up an empty page..

I'm curious if this issue is the same as in this forum post:
http://www.shape5.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,75/topic,32771.45/

Where does the problem lie and what can I do to resolve it?

Thanks tons.

Hello,

Try reinstalling the latest versions of all the extensions on the site from our Downloads Page. I am not sure if this will help but having the latest file sets might make a different. The script you linked is not part of our products but a Joomla Core script so not sure why that would cause a browser to hang. It might be due to your browsers script time out settings. I remember a long time ago I had to adjust Firefox's default settings for scripts to wait longer before timing out.

I would also be sure your version of Vertex is up to date too

I'm using Gamers. The demo on Shape5 gives me the same error. Did anyone look at the picture I attached? It shows the error AT Shape 5... NOT my site.. even though I have the same error..

I mentioned Vertex ONLY because I was curious if anyone thought it could be the same issue as was mentioned in the thread I referenced.

I would also be sure your version of Vertex is up to date too

Hello,

I have seen the error in your screen shot but none of our systems can replicate this issue. I would try re-patching your site files with the latest Vertex Patch to see if this helps. Our demos we generally don't patch unless there is a major functionality change that needs to be displayed so using that for script testing isn't going to be conclusive.

Does the error popup instantly or do you leave the page open for a period of time?

It takes roughly between 5 and 10 minutes. I did as mikenicoll suggested and adjusted Firefox's default settings for scripts from 10 to 100 (assuming it's in minutes)... but I can't do that for each of my visitors which is concerning.

Hello,

I believe this is more so going to be related to your system and browser settings. The Template itself would cause a script error such as this one and we haven't had any other reports of this. The script that is non responsive is also a core Joomla script not something we have added. You can post on joomla.org with a bug report to see if one of their scripts is causing the browser to freeze but I have tested this and left sites idle for long periods of time without any issues.

I was able to replicate  the error on our demo today and I have updated the JS files to fix this.

This was actually in an old version of the Image and Content Fader module.  There was a bug that caused this.  It is fixed so if you download and install a fresh copy it won't crash your browser after a time of being open in it.  Be sure to also clear your browser cache too
