Is there any way to just install the theme and the sample content without installing a copy of wordpress?

I'm looking at the zip file for the SiteShaper download and thinking that if I just copied the non-WP installation folders (images, wp-content, wp-includes, some of the base folder files, etc...)  over to an already existing installation of WP, that would basically be all that I need.

I'm sure there's a little more to it than that.
Just wondering if someone had a 'refined process' for accomplishing what I'm trying to do before purchasing access to the paid themes.

Hello,

No unfortunately there is no way to do this.  The content in the site shaper is content for an entire WP install there is no way to pull out just the Shape5 portion of it and install into an existing WP install.

Ya...  So far, the only way I've been able to conceptualize replicating the demo sites is to just install the template and then manually readd the demo content.
This seems silly considering we're working with computers.
There must be a way to automate this process.

In the grand scheme of wordpress, isn't there just files on the server in specific locations that tell the WP install what content is placed where, and then what database tables to reference?  You'd think that if you just added/replaced the (non admin) database tables, and then put the content files into the correct locations in the install, then it would basically just make the site to load into that....

Anywho.

Hello,

You could import database tables but that would definitely be more involved and complex. All the content in CMS's are stored on a server within a database but there aren't any good tools I am aware of to automate this process of importing without doing it manually.

I understand the process and I could do it manually, I just don't know what tables to copy to the DB and what files to copy to the file locs in public_html.

I've been trying to do it myself using the good old-fashioned '(educated)guess and test' method, but I got tired of having to reinstall the Joomla installation each time.

I thought it'd be possible to just pack the demo content into a separate .zip and make a module/plugin that imports the demo data to the right places (db tables and files) via the Joomla interface, like how it installs templates.

Hello,

Unfortunately nothing exists that I am aware of that would do that. Sample data only gets imported into the database during the install. If you come across anything that works let me know Smiley
