Hello all...I'm new to Joomla, so I hope you forgive me if this sounds a bit unusual.  I tried searching the forums/FAQ for this, but I couldn't find what I needed.

I recently downloaded the Pantheon Template, and I am struggling with arranging my "home" area of the page (the one in between the "Above-Body" and "Below-Body" styles) the way I want.   Ideally, I'd like for my home area to be like the one on the first page of the sample template (where all the news/videos about the various musical groups are neatly arranged in a grid)...it resembles the top_row and bottom_row styles.  However, try as I might, I cannot achieve that look.  I've even tried getting rid of that particular part of the page, as I can achieve the look I want with the Above-Body and Below-Body styles, but I cannot:  if the "home" area is empty, a slender blank area appears which I cannot eliminate.

Can anyone tell me how to achieve either of these objectives?

I apologize if this sounds a bit confusing:  I've tried to be as descriptive as possible, so feel free to let me know if you have any questions.  Also, I already have my Joomla installation, so I don't want to go back and reinstall the template using the "site-shaper" option, if I can help it.  Thanks!

Hello,

If you would like a copy of the demo, you would need to install the site shaper. A site shaper is a complete copy of the demo itself. If you don't want to do that, I would recommend installing the site shaper into a sub folder and using it as a live example for setup.

Hello Mike.

I was finally able to configure the home area the way I want it.  However, there is a grey button with a gear-cog logo (usually implies "settings") on it that appears to the right of each article.  Clicking on the button causes the page to drop down so that the very top is visible.  I was able to look at the code for them; they are labeled as "button dropdown toggles."  Do you know how I would get rid of those?

Thanks.

Hello,

This is a feature of Joomla 3.0 which houses things like Print and Edit. You can disable these under the Menu Parent > Article Settings options in the back end of Joomla. They should be labeled as Icons.
