Create a form search function

Hello,
Does anyone know any modules or components that would allow me to create a form that a customer would fill out that could search for profiles that meet the requirements of that form? Like if someone was looking for a doctor, that person would fill out a form and it pull up the doctors that meet the criteria in a search result.
