Help!

We used the excellent comaxium template to redo our company's website. We were able to define 3 styles to create consistent logotype throughout the site copy - however, now we're trying to style the name where it appears everywhere else.

How can we apply css styling to the module titles and menu items?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I am not sure I understand your question. There are several module styles that come with the template that you can use on any template. Anything beyond those styles would require custom programming.

Sorry for the confusion. I wanted to know how to apply CSS styling to a s5 accordion module's Title that is displayed.

I wound up using a custom html module to display the "title" of the s5 accordion that immediately follows.

The issue that I'm having now is reducing the space around the custom html module and especially the joomla frontpage layout. i have 3 articles displayed in 3 columns. No links are are set to be displayed, yet there is a large space at the bottom of the frontpage blog layout area. How can i reduce BOTH this padding around the text as well as reduce the padding around the custom html modules?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Can you please post a url to where this occurs? I will need to be able to see the live code in order to determine what is causing this gap.

Hello,

That area is being shown because you have an extra blank row in your module's table:

<tr>
   <td align="center" valign="top">
            <br><br>
   </td>
</tr>

There was some space at the top of the above body_1 module (with purple text) which i was able to remove easily. However its the blank space at the bottom of the front page blog layout that's most pressing.

How do i remove this? Where can I edit these values?

thank you!

Hello,

The blank area is being created by the code in your article that I pasted above. You have an extra row within your content. Your entire article area looks like this:

<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" class="blog">

<tbody><tr>
   <td valign="top">
      <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%">
      <tbody><tr>
                              <td width="33%" valign="top" class="article_column">

<table class="contentpaneopen">

<tbody><tr>
<td valign="top" colspan="2">
<div style="height: 135px; overflow: hidden;">
<p><img height="63" border="0" width="100" mce_style="float: right; border: 0;" style="float: right; border: 0pt none;" mce_src="/images/scale_help.jpg" src="/images/scale_help.jpg">Losing weight can be tough, but it doesn?t have to be anymore.&nbsp; With the help of <span class="liporidexBlackS"><span class="lipoK">lipo</span>RID<span class="ex">EX<span class="registered">&reg;</span></span></span> <a target="_self" mce_href="/wt-loss-pills" href="/wt-loss-pills">Wt loss pills</a>, you can finally get rid of those stubborn extra pounds.</p>
</div></td>
</tr>

</tbody></table>
<span class="article_separator">&nbsp;</span>
</td>
                                          <td width="33%" valign="top" class="article_column column_separator">

<table class="contentpaneopen">

</div></td>
</tr>

</tbody></table>
<span class="article_separator">&nbsp;</span>
</td>
                                          <td width="33%" valign="top" class="article_column column_separator">

<table class="contentpaneopen">

</div></td>
</tr>

</tbody></table>
<span class="article_separator">&nbsp;</span>
</td>

      </tr>
      </tbody></table>
   </td>
</tr>

<tr>
   <td align="center" valign="top">
            <br><br>
   </td>
</tr>
</tbody></table>

The two <br>'s are causing the gap.

I really appreciate the help.

However, I still dont understand where to edit the front page layout.

The standard Front Page Blog Layout displays Articles that have been set as Front Page Articles in a blog format. Where can I edit the html of the layout?

Simply editing the article html will not work - where does the template store the html for the frontpage layout?

thanks!

Hello,

The template does not create this page, this is created by Joomla itself. However, the code I've mentioned above is in your article itself, not in a file. If you can private message me super admin access I can remove this for you.

Hello,

I sent you a message several days ago stating that the articles on your homepage were locked by another user. I need you to unlock those so that I can access the articles. Simply go into all the articles on the homepage and save them.

Hello,

I am very confused as to where these <br /> statements are coming from. There's nothing the template that would be adding them, and I don't see any settings that would add them either. So I added the following code to the template's index.php file:

<?php if ($s5_current_page == "frontpage") { ?>
.blog br {
display:none;
}
<?php } ?>

Which will hide <br />'s on the homepage in any blog layout and it appears to be working now.
