Author Topic: Any Alternative to Virtuemart?.... for Shape5 Templates  (Read 3512 times)

I have downloaded a couple e-commerce templates and have (unsuccessfully) tried to implement them. They're installed and look good but I can't get my products into them so they're essentially useless.

I do have Virtuemart installed but I am not able to upload product files. I installed the CSVI Improved component but it's horrible or at least I'm not smart enough to figure out what they're thinking. When I try to go to CSVI to look for help and/or answers but the site is not working. It's been at least 3 days and I can't get any help from them.
It doesn't inspire much confidence in Virtuemart for me if they're going to leave they're Import/Export function to such an "iffy" product that has zero support.

I know that was more of a rant than a question but frustration has set in and I can't upload every product (1000+) manually. Friends have told me how they like to use OS-Commerce. Is there a way to use OS-Commerce in place of Virtuemart?

I would check out magentocommerce.com.  I personally think its the best open source ecommerce platform out there.  Its a stand alone solution though.  I know there was talk of bridging it into Joomla but I'm not sure if that ever happened yet.
