I am having an issue with my site which is using an s5 template and s5 box is conflicting (interestingly enough given that its advertised to not conflict) with jreviews. If you can fix it, i'd be willing to pay for another membership.

Have you tried switching between jquery and mootools in the admin of the module?

yes, with mootools it loads the box but if it is closed, all the s5 box links die until the page is loaded again. with jquery on any jreviews page (if jreviews' jquery is turned on which it has to be for its functionality) s5 box links only show the shadow when clicked, the box itself won't appear.

Hello,
Jonahh provided a suggestion above. We cannot provide extensions debugging into your site since your membership has expires. Support is only given during the time of your membership, this is part of your membership. If it is only happening on jreview pages then there is most likely an issue with their component that is conflict with our script. We cannot debug third party scripts.

Hmm, and yet why should i just go run and spend money beforehand when I have already talked to the jreviews support and they have provided a reasonable reason for s5_box to conflict (its version of jquery is ancient while jreviews uses the current stable version) and you have provided none and now say its their fault?

Hello,
Again, we cannot debug your site without an active membership. We run into third party issues all the time and it is usually because the third party script is not calling jquery properly. First, jquery should seldom be used in joomla extensions. Joomla encourages developers to use the default mootools that comes with joomla to avoid script conflictions. The most common problem is that third party developers often do not call their scripts in no-conflict mode. This is needed any time that jquery is called on the page or it will conflict with all other prototype scripts on the page. Most developers unfortunatley do not do this. If no-conflict mode is called by both scripts you can run two versions of jquery on the same page with no issues. If they are not calling no-conflict mode then this is an issue with their extension.

Ok, well, let me ask this question then. If I pay what kind of support would you give? I am not very familiar with how compatibility issues between extensions from different developers are usually fixed. Would you go so far as to provide a customized solution specifically for my site?

Hello,
We would be able to debug it for you, but if the issue is as I stated above where the script is being called wrong we cannot perform corrections on third party scripts. Without being the developers of them we won't have the best knowledge to know the best ways to adjust their code. Our support is for debugging our core products only. We do have a hire a coder program on the top menu, where you can hire a programmer to look into the issue as well.
