Suggest a Template

Hi guys, not exactly a template suggestion as such, but it would be great if more of the template site shapers were upgraded to v2.5, rather than having to download a 1.7 and upgrade from our end.

Reason I request this is because this process appears to be flawed (not at your end but joomla's), when the upgrade is run the process falls over, giving the following error message

JInstaller: :Install: Error SQL DB function failed with error number 1060
Duplicate column name 'ordering' SQL=ALTER TABLE `....... etc etc

This then duplicates lots of / sometimes all of your modules. I have found a fix for this on this thread:

So you basically just have to go into the database and delete the duplicate elements. But this isn't ideal, and doesn't fill me with confidence as to the stability of things going forward.

So what would be great is if you could have at least the last 2 years worth of site shapers joomla 2.5 ready from download off of the shape 5 site. Currently there are only 5 site shapers that are 2.5 ready, and seeing as I now build all sites with 2.5, this kind of limits me to how many of your templates I can use.

As for duplicate modules showing after the upgrade, I've personally done dozens of these upgrades and never experienced this. Did it happen on a specific site shaper?

Hi Mike, thanks for your response.

The point I am trying to make here is that there is an underlying problem when running the upgrade process from 1.7 to 2.5.  I can see from searching many forums that there are lots of people with the same issue as me, plus someone has already mentioned it on your forum for simplex template. As I said, it is not a shape 5 issue, but a joomla issue. So my point is that, is it not possible for you to reproduce your site shapers Joomla 2.5 ready? rather than 1.7 with an upgrade to 2.5 - thus eliminating this issue?

I am also a member with yootheme for instance, and all of their site shaper equivalents dating back as far as 2009 are Joomla 2.5 ready. There is no need to download as 1.7 and upgrade to 2.5

You currently only offer 5 site shapers as 2.5 ready, this basically means I can only use 5 of your templates, unless I want to download a blank 2.5 template and build from scratch.

Oh, and by the way, I am experiencing this issue with more than 1 site shaper, not just 1 template as I originally thought when I posted a different thread yesterday (again, in the simplex forum). I have since tried the appwonder template, and I got the same problem.

oooh I can't wait for the Eshopper site shaper to be updated.

I personally think it is the best template on the market.
