cool looking show/hide thing in wp

I am trying to figure out a way to emulate this cool show/hide content thing in joomla that these guys have got going on in wordpress.

I know the supersize background stuff but how they did the menus in and out on the sides escapes me. Any thoughts?

If you mean the left menu and right content sliding in this would be controlled by javascript.
