hello guys, i'm looking for a module that will allow users to register, but also to have it email the admin for admin to approve it 1st. I know CB has that function and I already have CB running on the site. the problem is this.

I have games on the site where I just want members to register automatically and that's fine. but another section we need to confirm the members and if I turn that feature on in CB then those who sign up for the games will have to wait for confirmation.

I tried testing out some other registration module but nothing did what CB does which is allow me to get an email 1st to verify the user then accept them.

I had a question out there about using another login to register users that will allow me to confirm the users manually but I didn't get any response to that so I activated my CB to allow me to approve the members manually. my quest is this now.

any user who already has a login can login to the game section and the section that I don't want them to log into. so I changed the access level in the menu section to special. but there's no option for me to change the members I want to have the "special access" is there away for me to add special so only members who have special tagged under group will be the only set of members to see what I don't want any other members to see unless they have special in there user rights also.

Hi, I am not sure of a way to do what you are referring to but you may wan to look into Jacl. It allows you to create custom groups and set access levels with those custom groups:

Thanks for that link, I see they have a free version but it doesn't work unless you're in a very old joomla version and they want $38 for the new build 1.5.9  Now that I know what to look for I will see if I can find a free 1, if not I will tell my client to come up with the money, everyone want stuff but don't want to pay for it these days...

Hello mike, you are really doing a great job here.
I also have a similar issue with my client site. I would like to restrict certain download pages to certain registered people in a section. Any person who does not belong to that section would not have access except to the section he belongs. I have been trying to figure out how to go about this. Your help will count a great deal.  Thanks in advance for your reply.
