installation error message

Hello out there, I am new to shape 5 and joomla in general: I have tried to install the kite photography template but I get this error message.

* JFTP::store: Bad response
* Warning! Failed to move file.

what is this I have tried all files availible for this template but cannot get it up and running via the joomla backend interface,
please help it may be silly but what am I missing?
