: Proportional Font Size of Inset Module and Body Font Size
: evgrace February 22, 2010, 08:16:56 AM
I've noticed that the font size for module that in the demo is within the inset position on the page is proportional to the font size of the body.  Is there a way to make this font size bigger without making the body font size larger?  I've found where to adjust the body's font size, but not without effecting the inset module's.   ???

Also, for some reason the text within a poll on the site is larger than the rest of the modules.  I have not been able to figure out why nor where to adjust this.  Can you take a look?

Thanks.

Hello, both the inset and the articles use

table.contentpaneopen, table.contentpane {

which is found at line 147 of template.css. This is because the articles and the newsflash module both use this class name and there's not a way to separate the two of them. They must both be the same size.

I did not see the poll module published to your site.

Mike, thanks for taking a look.

When you compare the font size of the body on vansickle.org/new_ and the font size of the body on the demo site, they are two different sizes... I can't figure out why.  I've copied the original template .css file back up to the site (with the exception of the backround) and it didn't fix the problem.  The font size that is on the demo site is closer to what I would like.

Also, the Poll is on the site at the bottom of the page.  Make sure you are looking at vansickle.org/new_ and not just vansickle.org.  If you can't see it, then please let me know... because that means I obviously have bigger problems than just a font size.  LOL.

Thanks.

Hello, try deleting all the css from the template's css folder and then reupload new css from the template's zip in the download section; just be sure that the old files are gone. Then clear your browser cache and check the site again.

No luck.  I did as you recommended, and still no luck.  The font size within the body and newsflash on my template are still different than the demo.  I've noticed that the POLL font size and body font size are the same... if that's of any help.

If you need me to PM user, I can.  Let me know.

I figured out what the problem was with the font size... I was using the hack for the s5_mp3 player in the index.php which would allow mods to be run within other mods.  For some reason it was changing the font size of the body style font (i.e. front-page articles and polls).

This now lends itself to another realm of questions.

1. Can the hack be run without changing the font of the other mods?
2. Is there another way to run the s5_mp3 player without putting it in an article on the frontpage?
3. I have a form to run from a mod. How can I utilize  this without the hack?

You can now go to the vansickle.org/new_ website to see the position of the s5_mp3 player and the form.  Thanks for any help.

Hello, I do not know why that would cause the font size to change. I just tested it locally and had no problems with it. The hack to the index.php file is the only way to get plugins to show in modules, if you are putting the mp3's in just articles you do not need the hack.

Mike,
I contacted Rostislav and asked if he had any advice on which way to go.  He recommended disabling each plug-in one by one until I found the problem.  I did.  I was utilizing a component called Red Form.  This plug-in was causing the conflict.

Do you know of a good form?  I simply want to generate a small form for visitors to submit requests (i.e. prayer requests).  Thanks.

Roger
