: Basic but very important layout question.

I'm relatively new to Joomla, and am struggling a bit. Hopefully you can help.

The front page of my site is starting to look okay, but if you click on either of the two, top menu tabs TODAY IN HISTORY, or HISTORY NEWS, what you see is a right hand column that is blank, no matter what.

Please see - http://www.historycargo.com and click on TODAY IN HISTORY, or HISTORY NEWS

Ideally what I would like to have is a two-thirds / one-third layout, that is where you have a wide column on the left and a narrow column on the right. But I've been working on this for three days now, and I just don't see any way to do it with these sub-menu pages.

P.S. Practically all the sub-pages in the Basics demo have the sort of layout I need. For example:

I just don't know how to get this for my own sub-pages. Seems like this layout for subpages is very hard to implement (?).

Dont know what you know:), so bear with me.

Assign the module to the right menu item, on inset or right (probably right), and set the width of the position in the template manager. That really should be all. I would test it with the joomla news section, just to be sure it isnt one of your extra components.

Maybe you have done something illogical in the template settings?

Hello, there would be a module published to either the inset or right position on your site that is causing this. I would go to your module manager in the backend of Joomla and unpublish the modules in right and inset one by one until the columns appear correctly to help determine which is causing the problem.

Thanks! Indeed, it was a module I installed early on assigned to the right, but not visible, which was causing this on the sub-pages.

Now if I can only get the command to work, to switch off the slider when shadowbox pops open (see my other post under the image slider extension), then we'll be good to go.
