: New header module position
: kboy March 11, 2010, 09:24:33 PM
I would like to add a new module position primarily for ads in the empty space in the header. I tried adding a "headerbox" position but it pushed the login stuff down. It looks like there is room for a 60X234 ad spot. Is it possible to add this? I have included an image with the position I would like to add it to. Thanks for your help. The web site is at www.townhallvideos.com.

Hello, I am sorry but that would require custom programming in order to add module positions.

What about just putting in the google ad code for that area?

Hello, that would still require a custom module position in order to do this.

mikek- I agree with kboy on this one. There should be an alternate position for those that do not use the search, register or login features. Otherwise this is a waste of space and perfect for a banner ad. Is there really that much involved in working one in?

Hello, any additions of module positions and layout will require cusotm php in the index.php file and custom css. We do not offer these services.

Hi mikek,

This thread is related to my requirement as well. I agree that this is not part of your services, but if you can give us some hints to your customer, it will help us in many ways to achieve this.

Hello, I am sorry but it's not as simple as just a quick how to in order to do this. The entire layout of the template is based on calculating the width of each column and width of the entire site based on the settings in the template configuration. Any alterations to this would require some custom php to alter the calculations.
