I'm not exactly sure what you mean. The main menu must be published to the right position. On a standard Joomla install the menu is defaulted to the left user position. Are you having trouble getting the template to appear is it does in the demo? The problem is that the font color in the backend (the one you see when you edit a static content page for example) is light grey and centered, Almost impossible to see and edit.
How can I make this text black without touching the color of the text in the site? I think that there should be a css class or something like that to add in the css to differentiate between the frontend text and the backend one, but I'm not able to see how and where...
