: s5 accordian menu not working properly...
: harshil April 07, 2010, 04:48:38 AM
Hi,
I am having one problem with s5 accordion menu for displaying its sub menus.I want to disable the parent menu for sub menus and when I click on any menu then its sub menus should be slide down but it doesn't work in this manner and redirects to the related link.
At http://www.shape5.com demo elegance site you could notice this thing that when we disable the parent link for sub menus  from admin site then it also disables all parent menu links.Try to click on "Kunena","Joomsocial" at the right side on shape5 demo elegance site then you will see that it doesn't open any page.
Please help me to get rid from this problem....

Thanks
Harshil

Hello,

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do.  With the module you can either enable the parent links so when you click them they take you to their URLs or you can disable them like seen in the elegance demo.

Hi jonahh,
Thanks for your reply. My website URL is http://demozonline.com/joomla/guitarbajao/ .You can see at the left side accordion menu.I have already disabled the first level menu from the module setting and want to display the sub menus. When we click on the parent menu item but the problem is here that the module setting disables all of the parent menu items for that accordion menu.for example it should disable only the menus which has their sub menus not the single menu items like "Home","Forum","Contact US" etc...
One another problem can also be seems here i.e. When I click on "Top Tabs" then it should open its sub menus for selecting another choices but it doesn't work for displaying its sub menus.
Please help me about this issue..
Regards:
Harshil

Oh ok, the module currently only supports all or none for the disabling of the menu links.  I clicked on top tabs and it worked for me.

Hi,
This seems really a bug in this module. As you have told that you tried to click on "Top Tabs" and it was working well but you should notice here that I have already disabled the top level menu from module setting. Also you should have notice there that after clicking on "Top Tabs" the sub menus for this menu should have displayed but it was not allowing us to open any submenus for "Top Tabs".
Please let me know any solution for this issue because I want to use Accordion menu on my website.
Thanks
Harshil

I clicked on the top tabs menu bar and the sub menus opened fine.  If you click on the actual text though it will only open for a second as it is in the process of transferring you to the actual page.

Hi jonahh,
Please try to test this issue in the following ways:
1.Click on "Top Tabs" on home page.It would display its sub-menus.
2.Click on"Most Popular Tabs".
3.Again try to open "Top Tabs" sub-menus by clicking on "Top Tabs".
4.You will see that it won't slide down any sub-menu and redirect to "Most Popular Tabs" page again.
5.There are two concerns:
(a) If we are at "Most Popular Tabs" page when we click on "Top Tabs" to view its sub-menus then why it redirect to "Most Popular Tabs" page if the first level menus are disabled from admin site?
(b) Why the sub-menus are not being opened at  "Most Popular Tabs" page(not home page)?
(c) Why it is being disabled all of the first level menus unless it should only disable those first level menus which has any sub-menus?

My website URL is http://demozonline.com/joomla/guitarbajao/ Please let me know any solution for this issue because I want to use Accordion menu on my website.
Thanks
Harshil

I'm not sure without looking first hand at the scenario you have the menu running in.  We haven't had any other complaints/problems like yours so I'd need to look first hand to resolve.

Ok, so what was the fix? I keep searching through this forum for Accordion link display problem fixes, but every single one of these problem postings just sort of... end, without any description of the resolution....sigh, no, I mean, ARGH!
