: Footer seems to be far away from content ???
: uglyfashio June 04, 2010, 06:14:32 AM
Hi there,

I have used the Forever Ace template, and it seemingly was working.  I just tried installing Community ACL, which, was a litte problematic but I think they have resolved the issues now.

Anyway, now when I view my page, the footer is miles away from the content.  Also the header information appears below the header.  I'm pretty sure it will be related to Community ACL, but I thought  would check in case anyone else can think of a reason this may be.  Community ACL doesn't have a CSS file so I can't think what could cause it from that point of view.

Ok so I uninstalled Community ACL.  The header had moved out of s5_top_bar_pos and closed this Div and therefore, gone below.  Uninstalling rectified this situation.  Which is odd, I don't really understand what they're doing.

The footer however, has not returned to it's original state :(

I can't spot what's causing the Footer to go so far away when I look at the CSS.  Does anyone know a simple way to put my site back to how it was, seeing as the component doesn't have any css files, I doubt it was that, hence reuploading the css files probably won't make a difference.

update: have spotted the footer is being pushed down by "right shadow".

Cheers

Eoin

Hello,

I am looking at your site but do not see any issues with the footer.

Hiya,

There wasn't any problems when I looked at it in Chrome, but in Firefox there are.  See the attached picture which shows what I am experiencing.

I'm sure it's the community ACL extension that I installed.  I just can't work out how to undo whatever it did!

I tried clearing my browser cache but that's not it.

Hello, I have checked two machines in firefox and neither of them is showing an issue with the footer. Does it only occur on certain pages? I would also suggest checking this on a second machine.

Hi,

Yes this only occurs on my machine.  I have tried other machines with no issues.

Can anyone explain this to me?  I'd really rather not have to use another machine just for this one website!  I don't understand it at all  ???

Hello,

There is something wrong the local install of your browser then, you can try reinstalling your browser or upgrading.
