Dear Shape 5 team,

I need help and advice!  I am using Pantheon and have modified the site shaper. I cannot use Youtube as half the family and soon myself will be based in china where youtube is still blocked, and so have altered the S5 box to point to files on my own site server.
I originally started with .mov files.  Great on the Mac, and on Chrome on a PC - but didn't work at all on IE unless quicktime has been installed separately - however, video does not tell user quicktime is needed - so it is simply blank/dead.
Changed to .wmv works on PC but does not work on Mac.  However, articles which have .wmv video play perfectly, it is only the video played through the s5 box that does not work.

Can you either advise on an s5 box fix to allow the .wmv to play, or advise on a format that is more widely available and safer to use?

I am sorry but our players do not support wmv files. I would suggest looking on extensions.joomla.org to see if there are any there that will play this format for you.
