: [Resolved] Where Do I Change the Header Text From?
: drs2biz March 02, 2011, 07:44:57 AM
I am new to Joomla 1.6 and just finding my way around it, but have had a thorough look-see to try and locate where I can edit the Header on this great looking template. I want to change the following:

Suckerfish Menu:     Custom Widths:     Highlight/Background Color:

etc                                etc                            etc

... to the text of my choice. Please help!

Hello,

I am not sure I understand your question, are you trying to change those specific words in the template configuration area? If so, you can editing them in the template's language file in the languages folder.

Thanks, Mike.

Yes, I am trying to change the header info to something that is relevant to my site. I've spent literally hours digging around in the Joomla back-end looking for where I can change this text. Would you please give me the exact name and path of this file and I will go and edit it.  ;)

Hello,

language/en-GB/en-GB.tpl_shape5_intrigue.ini

The text I am trying to edit so that the page reflects what the website is about is as follows...

Suckerfish Menu:

To enable this menu simply publish a menu module in your "site modules" area of Joomla to the "suckerfish" menu position. If no drop downs appear enable "show sub menu items" in the menu mod.
Custom Widths:

Head on over to the "extensions > template manager" and select "shape5_intrigue" to define columns widths and other included template features. You can specify fixed or fluid, body width, left width and right width to any size!
Highlight/Background Color:

The custom highlight colors control backgrounds, titles, hyperlinks, menu items, suckerfish and several other elements. These colors can easily be set in the template configuration area.

Hello,

That is turned off in the template configuration screen. Go to Extensions/Template Manager and then open the Intrigue template's link. On this screen look for the param "Show the template tutorial?" and set it to No.

Thanks, Mike,

That's great... now, where can I insert my own text in this area instead of the template text?  ???

Hello,

This is called directly from the template's index.php file. If you edit that file and search for the text you will see the area to change.

I would however suggest simply publishing custom html text modules to the top, top2, top3, or top4 so you will have control over where the modules appear on your site.
