: Displaying an article on the Front Page
: alexius March 09, 2011, 07:55:30 AM
My question is probably very simple.
I have a main article published on my front page - and I want to have another article published in the "inset" position - but I cannot find out how to do this. There are no modules that just publish one article. I can get New articles etc - but I just want a single article.
The reason for this is that my client wants to be able to edit and change content via a login on the web page - he does not want to go via Admin. You cannot edit a news article in this way- you always need to create a new NewsFlash articles (unless of course you go to admin and edit the article - which I am trying to avoid).

You can see the site on www.iqela.co.za - the box "Current Projects" is the one I want to use to just publish an article.

Hello,

You cannot publish articles to module positions. You can only publish them in the main content area. You could use the column settings in the menu manager to give multiple columns for a different layout. The only way to edit content in a module is through the backend, only articles can be edited from the frontend.

So is there no way to publish an article to the Front page in a set position (for example the "inset" position)?

I do not understand how one could use columns to do this?

Thanks for the quick replies

Hello,

There is no way to publish an article in positions, such as inset. If you used columns you could put the articles in multiple columns and rows in the article area, to give it a different layout.
