: white background for main content area : lilolad April 07, 2011, 05:18:31 AM Hi,
Apologies if this has already been covered but I can't seem to find the answer in the forum and what I did try didn't work. Basically, this site I'm designing wants to have a white background for the content section, and if need be, for the menus on the right as well. Here is the link so you can see: http://79.170.44.150/wessexfireservices.co.uk// What I'd like is to keep the lines defining the areas and the associated shadows, but it's the colours in the background of all these that i'd like to make purely white. I've read on the forum that those images are all the s5_wrap_ images (9 of them). But when I view these png files in Fireworks they are all completely clear on a clear background. There are bitmaps defined but they don't appear to have any content in them at all (i.e. when I put them on a white canvas the bitmaps don't show up at all). Any pointers or ideas on how I can get my pure white backgrounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance, Matt : Re: white background for main content area : mikek April 07, 2011, 08:29:07 AM Hello,
I see you've already applied a white background to the entire wrapper, is this what you were trying to achieve? The 9 images you've mentioned and read about in other posts are supposed to be clear so they are opaque enough to see the background of the page. You would need to modify them to solid white if you wanted those areas white as well. : Re: white background for main content area : lilolad April 07, 2011, 11:04:53 AM Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Well I was trying to make the background white but keep the border and shadow around the outside of the main content and menu sections. I couldn't see the border outline in those 9 images which is where I thought it would be. Thanks for the help, Matt |
