How do I get the menu description to show up? - the text under the menu title.

The theme admin (Under Appearance) will allow you to set up virtually all the special features of the theme.

Tristan,
with all respect... you are just repeating what's been written on the 'not so good' tutorial pages.
when I ask a question it's because I have already tried everything and still it's not working as it's supposed to. Otherwise I wouldn't bother asking. When you install this them with the Shaper, it might not be a big deal to customize the theme as everything is in place already; but when you install the them without it, you only get blue empty page, hence making it everything more difficult and your 'short' answers with lack of real explanation are only contributing to my frustration almost regretting having purchased the theme.

On other posts, it seems as if you have just copy and pasted your answer which were in fact no real answer. You might know these theme from top to bottom; I don't. I have had edited many themes in the past, but have never encounter this lack of real explanation or answers.

It seems this theme only recognizes the regular widgets, not from other parties as they won't show up either.
Also, I have place an image in the widget Top 1 and had assigned  its ID in the options panel. This only created the Box behind the image: http://empowertochange.com and if you look at the source code, you will see it has inserted this section  <!-- Start top 1-3 -->  twice

The other stuff, i figured out on my own after many hours of trial.

Now, I need to resolve these issues and I don't expect you to just say: The theme admin (Under Appearance) will allow you to set up virtually all the special features of the theme." I already know this page by heart. I need specific solutions for:

1. how to make the descriptions under the menu items appear. I already have labels and still didn't work, so I need to know which specific option triggers this.

2. I need to resolve the issue with Top 1 widget problem with the graphic.

And that's it.... for now. Thanks.

For the "Top 1" position, try giving the widget a title (even if it's just a space).  Unfortunately, with the way Wordpress renders widgets, sometimes not having a title can break the coding structure.

For the menu subtext, make sure you have the "enable subtext" option in the admin set to "yes" (Which it looks like you figured out, because I just refreshed your site & the subtext is now showing).

I did try the space before as I read it at someone else's post but didnt work.
I tried it again and it worked. Some things doesn't behave as they are supposed to if the neighbor widget is not present or is changed.
Now its working.
