Is there a work around for this? I tried creating a page class but that is not working. I appreciate your help.

I'm not sure if that will help. I want a custom background on each page. In Joomla 1.5 under parameters system you could choose a background through the Menu Image selector. That does not have a similar feature in Joomla 1.7. I don't mind changing the code but I don't know where to apply what. I did try to give it a class through the Page Display Options - Page Class but it didn't work. I created the classes in the CSS and have tried modifying it several times. The only way a background shows is through hard coding on the index.php.
