Hi there,

Our server has been upgraded to PHP 5.3.8 and this has caused the "Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in.." error in the following modules:

  • mod_virtuemart_s5_dropdown_cart
  • mod_s5_imagefade
  • mod_s5_vm_accordion

I have made sure I have the most current version of each module.

Urgent help appreciated!

UPDATE: Also getting "Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in" in the index.php template file when you click on Contact

Looking into it further it appears to be an issue with virtuemart code itself, I thought the deprecation was joomla related.  Please see the following:

Thanks I switched off display errors and this has removed the error on screen.
