: WordPress 3.3 Upgrade Problems
: jsox78 December 22, 2011, 02:04:59 PM
I just recently upgraded a development siite using this theme from WordPress 3.2.1 to 3.3.

Upon upgrading I am no longer able to use features such as the Posts Quick Edit and add Tags to Posts.

I don't know why this is happening, but I know it is related to the theme as when I switch over to Twenty Eleven everything works just fine.

Any help in providing an update would be most appreciated.

Update - After reinstalling the development environment I noticed that the ShapeShifter is packaged under WordPress 3.1.3. I wanted to post an update that the theme also causes issues under the 3.2 stream as well.

Same issue being experienced with the Elegance theme install under WP 3.3 - any ideas?

Thanks!

It appears that there may be a conflict with the new jQuery in WP 3.3.  I'll have to take a look at the code and see what I can do to fix things.  Thanks for letting me know!

Thanks for the update. I prefer to keep all my WordPress installations current so any updates you can provide would be great.

I believe that the problem is not actually with the theme itself, but with the built in version of "Widget Context".  If you disable it in the theme options & install the latest version through the "install plugins" area, you may find that the problem stops right away.

(One downside to this is that you may have to reconfigure your widget appearance settings because the built in version was modified to use a different "save" method for the options)  All new releases from "Life Journey" forward will be using the standard version and should no longer have that issue.

Same problem here with WordPress 3.3.2. We tried the recommended solution to disable the built-in plugin and install the newest version of the widget context plugin, problem is still there. We are not able to add any tags to new posts.

I believe there is a conflict with the WP3 jQuery and the javascript required for the theme admin.  The newer releases have solved that problem and I will be going back through the older ones to make some minor updates when I have a chance, but my primary focus right now is getting the Vertex Framework for WP ready to release; once that's done, there should be a lot of updates and new releases happening very quickly.

Did this issue ever get resolved?

As stated in my previous post, the issue is solved in newer releases.  I don't currently have the time available to recode older releases from scratch; I am working on getting ahead on all the "must do" things, then I will begin working my way backward to see what's worth updating.
