: Slides not centered on module position
: gregorio March 31, 2012, 11:56:43 AM
Hi there,

I am trying to use the S5 horizontal accordion I can't get it to show centered.
I have been looking around for a long time and I failed  to find what it is going on.
I have changed the width  of the slides also. and publish the module to a different position, nothing helped.

Any ideas?

Thank you very much.

Greg

Hello,

If you're trying to center the module itself that depends on the template you are using. You'll most likely need to add a margin-left to the module to make it appear centered.

No, I think (see below) that the module itself is centered in position. It is the module content (the slide) that needs the margin-left

Hello,

You have no content on the slide. You are calling a solid image only:

With this layout you would need to make your adjustments to the image itself.

Hi, you lost me there, I am sorry just learning here.

I did set-up only one slide following the documentation to see if I was in the right track. I have not yet created the images for the the rest of the slides I am planning on using.
I have now duplicated and published five more slides (same image) and it seems to me the set-up is fine.
Could you check it out again? the centering issue the only thing holding me (I think)
Where can I find the CSS that controls the slides position within the module itself?

Hello,

If you are referring to the content that you want to center, you have no content. You have built it directly on to the image itself. You have no actual text, it's built on to the image:

CSS cannot manipulate the look of an image.

Hi Mike,

Thank you very much for your responses.

It seems as if I did not explain property what is going on and what I am trying to achieve. Please allow me to try one more time and after your review, if you can help me great if not I'll find some way to get this done.
I am quite familiar with CSS although no guru what so ever, CSS is applied to images all the time to modify their look, transparency etc but of corse, you are right, no CSS can move the contents of the image around. I do not intent to manipulate the image.

I am using Chrome's Developer Tools and I am including here a few screen shots that I hope will help. (I included one in previous post)

The slides are showing not centered within the module container (id="s5_hor_acc_wrapper")
See the blue color space on the right side of the slide (Sreen shot 1)

Notice the padding: 0px attribute on the (Screen shot 2)

Notice my padding change using Developer Tools (Screen shot 3)

Notice centered slide result, green and brown on the sides (Screen shot 4)

Now, where do this CSS styles come from? I can't see it in s5_horizontal_accordion.css

Could I edit div.s5_hor_acc_wrapper in s5_horizontal_accordion.css with out messing something else?

Thank you again

Greg

Hello,

Can you please publish your site again so that I can view it live? I cannot verify css without viewing this live.

Absolutely..

Hello,

I think your template just has a default width on that area and the module isn't set wide enough to fit the area. Try increasing the width of the accordion in it's backend to something large like 925 instead to fill in the extra space.

Hi Mike,

Yes, that did the trick.
Thank you very much, the next time I ask for help I will try to by as clear as I can with the issue.

I have one more question though...
Can I apply links to the slides?
for instance: while hovering the images (slides) the cursor change to a  "hand"  and the user can click and go to a different page.

thanks again

greg

Hello,

You would have to add your own html into the slide modules for that. Since you have them setup as just images, there is no html for the links to apply to.
