: change main article content width / position - sea of glass : martu April 22, 2012, 05:51:49 AM Hi
how do I change the width of the main article like they have here with http://www.beautyonbelle.com/ - with the main content narrower than the menu and footer width It's a great look they've achieved with the template by mixing the width up thanks Marty : Re: change main article content width / position - sea of glass : pmiddleton April 22, 2012, 09:06:11 AM You can probably do it by publishing a single blank module to the left position on the pages on which you want that effect.
: Re: change main article content width / position - sea of glass : martu April 22, 2012, 12:53:38 PM I tried that but then the outline of the module appears which isnt the effect I'm after
you can see it on the link http://www.beautyonbelle.com/aboutbeautyobbelle the transparent pic looks good and the main pages sits to the right by itself. maybe if I published the left module could then remove the outline somehow but that sounds messy and complex thanks anyway for the suggestion any other ideas anyone? Johan? : Re: change main article content width / position - sea of glass : jonahh April 24, 2012, 11:53:33 AM If you want this width throughout the whole site you could put the following in the index.php file right before the </style> tag:
.s5_backmiddlemiddle_m { width:739px !important; } Regards, : Re: change main article content width / position - sea of glass : martu April 24, 2012, 02:49:07 PM hi
I tried that but it didn't seem to do anything :( I found this in the forum but I can't get it working for sea of glass. Would the code be applicable to sea of glass http://www.shape5.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,75/topic,12806.0/ : Re: change main article content width / position - sea of glass : jonahh April 25, 2012, 01:06:38 PM Can you post a URL where you tried this?
: Re: change main article content width / position - sea of glass : jonahh April 30, 2012, 12:48:04 PM Ok so the following three DIVs are what set the width area of the main body. Its set near the top of the index.php file. So you can edit them there. They will have php echo code as things are being calculated to output the proper width according to left and right columns but since you arent using them you can just add in static widths
.s5_backtopmiddle_m { width:899px; } .s5_backmiddleright_m { width:922px; } .s5_backbottommiddle_m { width:899px; } |
