this template (Simplex) has bugs if updated to 2.5
after updating to 2.5, if we go to module, filter the module type to "Custom HTML", we can see duplication of modules with type "Welcome to Joomla"
this is just one of the bugs identified. not sure if there are any others.
Need help on this please. urgent.

This isn't a bug with the template, it sometimes occurs in Joomla when migrating from 1.5 to 1.6+. The only way to get past it is to remove the duplicates.

The duplicates can't be removed. it will delete the original module as well if the duplicate is removed.
and i've tried to update this Simplex to 2.5 on 3 different installations and all having the same issue.
When i tried with other Shape5 templates, none was facing this issue
is this a coincidence?

The template doesn't have any influence on the upgrade process at all. It is all handled entirely by Joomla. I can't say why you only have the problem with one template, but it is definitely a Joomla issue.

I ran the same process locally, and I didn't get any duplication.

I really think that the Joomla forums might be a better place to ask. It is their upgrade process which causes the problem.

Im also having the exact same issue on this template,

Sometimes, when updating Joomla, it creates duplicates of extensions and templates. It doesn't happen for everyone, it doesn't happen every time, and there's no real reason why.

It is a bug in the Joomla update process, and this is not controlled by the template, it is entirely controlled by the Joomla core.
