: s5 menu no longer shows proper links
: groundhog7 August 21, 2012, 07:04:30 AM
I completed designing of the site (truly.com/index.php). The s5 menu (horizontal up top) had links to direct articles

(for example: new_architect15/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=105)

at some point all the s5 menu button lead to what almost appears is template links/directories

(for example: http://www.trulyvi.com/index.php/s5-menu/fading-effect-example)

I added a new button to the main menu with a direct link to an article, it too showed differently once i saved it.

i also added a new menu al together making it visible. The link in this menu also went to a directory.

thanks matt

Hi Matt

If you edited the articles that were already present in the site shaper, rather than create new ones, check the aliases in each article, as this is where the SEO url takes the link from.

thanks, i did this and found a few showing the previous alias.

however, they still point to a directory.

i added a new article and a new button by itself (button is direct article link). it wants to point to a directory with the same name as the button

truylvi.com/index.php/kb-test
top right button> KB Test

should link to article name: kb which is article:
http://trulyvi.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=178&Itemid=29

I found the initial problem.

The SEF under joomla admin/global Config was showing YES on Search Engine friendly URLs. I changed this to NO and it corrected the buttons. Thanks

No problem, glad it's solved. Often, if you deactivate and then reactive SEF, it rewrites the links, so it might be worth re-enabling to see what happens.
