: s5 accordion menu - change open level
: chucknb284 August 21, 2012, 03:44:00 PM
Hi,

Is it possible to change way the accordion menu open response works. First it looks like in the backend you have some control over the levels shown but this does not work. If I do anything but 1 and all and show submenu items it gets really screwed up. Is there some way I can control what opens up - right now its opening everything under the selected first level menu item. I would like for it to open up just to the second level and then open further if a menu item is clicked, is that possible?

Thanks

There does appear to be an issue with this. I've moved the post to the forum for the accordion menu.

Can you post a URL to the screenshot issue?   Then I can see whats going on with the CSS.  Thanks!

Hi,

Its listed in my first screen shot:  www.zypath.com/resources/blog

The second screen shot is when I make the changes to list only the first and second level. Since it screws everything up I can't leave it that way. If you want me to do a capture with firebug let me know.

Thanks

There is no one to get it so first level opens and then second.  The module was only designed to open the first level and thus any subs under that will show.  Im not sure why those options are in there but the javascript is only designed as being able to open up one level.  You'd have to hire someone to custom code this for you if you needed it

Hi,

I also want to use the S5 Accordion Menu, but it seems like that i have the same problem (even in the orignial Template).

I want to set the option "Show Submenu Items?" => No, but then it crashes.

Is there a way to make that option working?

Thx,
Chris

PS: Please find enclosed my snapshot.

This site is actually running on my own computer and not on any webserver.
I just did a fresh installation of Corporate Response with Site Shaper.
It appears already in the "original" version, hence this bug should be easily repeatable.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I believe the issue is strictly related to text separators and not real links. If you open the Extensions/S5 Accordion Menu link you'll see that they all open and show correctly. The ones under the S5 Flex Menu link are just text separator links which are very rarely used. If you are not going to use text separators in your menu then the code as it is now will work with no issues.

Hmm.... I am not sure if we are talking about the same.

My goal is using the "Module/S5 Accordion Menu"-Module instead of the "Module/Main Menu".
Both menus are showing basically the same links of the main menu. The "Module/Main Menu" static and the "Module/S5 Accordion Menu" is dynamic.
So i want to use the "Module/S5 Accordion Menu" because it looks better, but unforunately it doesn't work well.
Changing the options "Show Sub-menu items" is working on the "Module/Main Menu" but not on the "Module/S5 Accordion Menu".

The "Module/S5 Accordion Menu" crashes as you can see in my first screenshot.
The "Module/Main Menu" works as you can see at this enclosed screenshot.

Kind regards,
Chris

Hello,

We are talking about the same module. The Show Sub Menu Items turns off all sub menu items for other main level items, other than the one you are currently on. So if you open S5 Flex Menu it will show the subs for that menu item only, and no other main level parents will have their subs shown. That's how it's intended to work, and how it is working on the default install.

If you want to turn off all the subs, you can try setting the End Level to 1, but that might not be the result you're looking for.

If i change to End level 1, it does not show any sub-menu items. It remains on the main level, so its useless.
I would like to change the end level to 2 or 3, but the only options are 1 and All.

Hello,

I'm sorry but that's not an option of the module. The module is really intended to show sub menus. If you need to hide other levels you would need to create another menu with this lower levels not on that menu.
