: Error Activating S5 Accordion Menu Plugin.

Hi,

Perhaps you can help me with this problem.

When I activate the S5 Accordion Menu, I get the following error message in the status area of the Wordpress plugin page ....

"The plugin generated 2 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice ?headers already sent? messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin."

When I enable DEBUG, the following message is printed ...

My web site under development (http://66.147.244.131/~jjcourtc/) appears to work correctly.  However, if I attempt to login in to Wordpress, or update a post or page, I get the Wordpress White Screen of Death (WSOD).  If I deactivate this plugin, I no longer get the WSOD (and of course, I no longer have the S5 Accordion Menu!).

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

John

I am in the process of completely redeveloping the accordion menu to use the WP3 custom menu system; one of the top priorities of the rewrite is making sure it doesn't have that admin conflict.

I am hoping to have the new version ready to go in time to release with or before the September theme.

Tristan,

Thanks for the update.  I'll look for a temporary plugin in the meantime.  Looking forward to the updated menu plugin and September theme.

Hi Tristan,

I noticed you recently released some new themes for September and was checking in to see if you were able to update the menu plugin as well.  Any new status on that?

Thanks

John

Yes.  You should be able to re-download the plugin from the club downloads area and reinstall it with no difficulties.  I haven't yet upgraded the menu style because I am planning on rebuilding all plugins from scratch on a new framework I've been developing, but I did manage to find the problem in the code that was causing the error and have replaced the club download with a fixed version.

Part of the new plugin framework I'm working on will hopefully include update alerts, and possibly even the ability to upgrade semi-automatically.
