How do I remove the bar with login, registration and facebook etc icons?

Or change the title at the top of the page (Vertex Framework, an .........)

Sorry, I'm green enough to not even know the right terminology.  :)

In Template Manager leave the fields for login/register and icons blank to remove the outputs.

You would need to change the s5_logo.png to change the logo

Thanks! I edited the php file to kill the icons - this sounds much easier.

Hi

I have been successful in removing the login and register items.

However I am not making a dent in getting rid of the social icons via emptying the urls from "javascript:;"

Could also not find anything in the vertex guide.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hello,

It depends what Template you are using. Leaving the input fields blank for all the social icons in the back end will make it so they do not publish.

Hi, I can't find the right place in the template manager to put in info for social icons or simply removing social icons - could you tell me the path to do so?

Which template are you using?

Which template are you using?

For example, "Design Control" has no Social Icon configuration in the template. I have not been able to even figure out where to put the URLs, as currently each button just opens "about:blank" in a new tab.

The URLs go in the theme specific area of the template. You have to go to your template manager in Joomla and then select the Design Control template. You will then see something similar to the first image here when you click the "theme specific" button:
