: Contact Us Form Help
: janemiller October 30, 2012, 12:13:50 PM
I am adding a "Contact Us" form to my site built from New Vision.  I have created the form and a "thank you" page but can't figure out how to connect them.  I've searched Joomla forums for help, but none of the instructions have the same content as the New Vision template(s).  Do I need to get a different " /components/com_contact/controller.php"?

Additionally, when I submit my form, I get a 404 error "/index.php/[email protected]".

Hello,

The template doesn't control any of this, it just stylizes the default com_contact from Joomla itself. I've never actually setup a thank you page, it generally just submits the page itself.

If you're getting a 404 error try turning off your SEF in the global configuration.

I can't seem to get the Contact Us form to work on my website (Homepage). No matter what I do, how often I try to set it up, link my Contact to it, I even created another Contact for myself thinking something might be wrong with the first one and it just won't send the emails to me. I'm using Joomla 3.6.x. ??? ??? ???
Anybody got an easy step by step for me so that I can track my steps and see if I am doing something wrong. This is my first time using/making the Contact us Form.  :-\

Hello,

The form submitted fine for me on your site, do you mean you aren't receiving the email? Make sure to check your spam mail. The form uses mail the settings under the Joomla Global Configuration/Server/Mail Settings, so you also need to verify that those settings are correct. If you have those settings set to php mail, I would suggest changing them to smtp instead, most servers do not allow non-authenticated mail sends.

Also, your site is using Fitness Center, not New Vision. Please be sure to post in the correct forum boards in the future to ensure you receive more accurate support. Thank you.
