: Problems with Callie Rush Template
: missqi November 21, 2012, 07:15:25 AM
This is to Shape 5 suppot, I have sent an email regarding this issue and was told to post my issue here, which I find ridiculous. If you can answer my email you tell me that, why couldn't you just answer the issue.

However, my issue is I cannot load images to this template, I bought this because you claim it is easy to set up, well I'm certainly not finding it easy. I've also had to use 3 different tech's, 2 of them just to get it uploaded and set up and even then I had to reset something. I've also tried to have someone upload the pictures and they could not configure them to appear properly.

Unless you can help resolve this I would like a refund. I was going to use this membership to download other templates for 2 other domains but I don't think it's worth this much time effort and hassle.

I never received any e-mail from you, and as I am the programmer for WordPress, it's a good thing you posted.  Next time, please remember to post to the correct board as well; it will help to speed up my ability to respond.  I will move this topic to the correct board after your next response.

1.  What exactly do you mean by "cannot load images"?  Please be as specific as possible.

2.  Did you use the Site Shaper or install the theme through WP admin?

Here is a copy of the email and response.

I purchased a membership for your wordpress themes, because your site
claims that it's themes are very easy to set up and can be uploaded in
minutes. I have downloaded the callie rush theme, I am having great
difficulty with it and cannot get it to format properly or save properly.
I would like some support with this as an urgent matter, or a refund.

Yes I did use the site shaper.

When I load the pictures they do not appear properly. There are also some parts of other pictures at the bottom of the frame.

For the formatting issue:
Try disabling "Raw HTML mode" in the "Advanced" tab of the theme options.  That setting prevents WP from adding automatic formatting to content because that formatting tends to break code validation.

For the images:
Try the formatting thing as see if that solves your images issue as well; if not, let me know (preferably with a link so I can see what's actually happening), and I will do my best to help solve whatever additional problem you may be having.

I've disabled RAW HTML now and it's not working.

I'm trying to look at your site, but either my internet connection or your server is going very slow; I've been waiting almost 10 minutes for the page to load.

I'm not sure why, perhaps because I'm logged in?

It finally loaded - not sure what the problem was.

One thing that's making a mess of your site is that all the demo content was deleted without removing the custom menu widgets, so there are a handful of custom menus that link to nowhere with links that have no text.

As for the images issue, what exactly is/isn't happening that should/shouldn't be?

I would also suggest downloading the standalone version of the theme and using FTP to re-upload it to your themes folder, overwriting everything it asks you to; just in case there's a file missing or something got corrupted during your setup process.

The pictures are not appearing as they should, they should be full pictures. I'm sure you can see that. They don't change properly. And when I try to add other pictures the top of the picture appears in that black frame at the bottom.

Ok, now we're getting somewhere.  Now I know that you're referring to Frontpage Display, not the theme itself.

Your images need to be the same size as the dimensions set in the settings for the widget; if they're too large, they'll "overflow" and the overflow portion will be hidden.

You should also delete any left over demo widgets that you're not using, as they're messing up the layout of the site; especially because it appears all the content was removed from them.  The Drop-Down positions should definitely be emptied if you're not using them.

Thank you, I am in the process of adding content to the ones I want to use. Can I just hide the others until I build my content and then use them? because the layout of this theme is what attracted me to it.

While your here could you also please tell me how to remove the s5 symbol from the address line in the browser.

That is the "favicon"; just just replace "favicon.ico" in the theme folder with whatever you would like to have appear in its place.  This site will help you generate a compatible ".ico" file: http://www.favico.com/

You can definitely hide any widgets that you're not ready to add content to.  The layout is very flexible; I would recommend trying things in various positions to see what the results are.  Any unused position will be automatically hidden from the front end, and any position you add content will automatically appear and resize to fit with any other active positions.

I have tried everything to set up the front page display and the pictures will just not appear as they do in the demo. Can you please help set them up with the text and so they run through a cycle as it does on the demo.

I have tried setting the picture size to fit widget as suggested, now it has a black line at the top and bottom, and I cannot get it to change back.

Someone using your account has created a new thread and I have answered in that thread.  I am now locking this thread and the conversation will be continued in the new thread.
