: FATAL ERROR upon trying to save any changes made to the content from the admin..
: sirfan November 19, 2008, 05:37:13 PM
Hi,
I have installed the template, followed whatever incomplete instructions there were available, and finally got everything to work, however, if I try to edit content or create a new one then save it; I receive an error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method JAdministrator::getParams() in /home/comcasae/public_html/comcasagames/sirfan/components/com_virtuemart/virtuemart_parser.php on line 80I also have the fornt page text showing although I have even deleted the page from the admin.
This is after doing the db dump. I have set up another test site and there I have not done the dump and everything seems to be working fine. Except, I can not get the fancy login there.
Your prompt reply will be greatly appreciated!
Kindest regards,
S. Irfan

Hello,

I suggest removing the VirtueMart Component and reinstalling.  I'm not sure why this is happening but it seems that something is corrupt perhaps.  A clean VM install should take care of this.

Hi Jonah,
Thank you for your prompt reply!
I followed your instruction but I remain receiving the same error.
Anymore suggestions?
Thank you!
Kind regards,
S. Irfan

Really? Thats strange, can you PM login details, Joomla and FTP.  It will be easier for me to debug this way.

Thanks,

I have upgraded Joomla, VM, and the error has disappeard! Also, the front page text was actually inside a module which I finally discovered so it is gone too.
I would liek to know though if you know how I can make the "Description" instead of showing above the products below so that I can use VM for changing my text on the products page from now on.
Thank you!
Kind regards,
S. Irfan

Not exactly sure what you are asking?  The description for products can already be changed via VirtueMart.  Just go into the admin and then select a product and you can edit the description.
