I went in to the Template Manager and finally found the setting under the "General" tab, down towards the bottom of the page. I read the instructions and figured out I was suppose to have "green" checks for each page I did NOT want the Main Content section to show. Would have thought the checks should be red for turning something off, or would have thought I would have un-checked a green check for turning something off, but these setting are the opposite; you will see a green check for turning this item off.
