: Main Page latest news articles
: warltier May 08, 2013, 10:25:07 PM
On the demo/template there are 3 articles which display in the user 1 module.  I have changed one article  and for some reason the other 2 are now missing.  I have checked under article manager and these are still there and published.  If I create a menu and set it in the module area then the titles appear for the missing 2 on top of the article that is showing.  Do I need to set a menu in this area and then place articles  there?

1.  I can't find where these articles are linked to the user 1 module in anyway.  Under module manager user 1 is there but I can't find any link to these articles even the one that is showing. Where is this?

2.  When adding new articles to this area, how on earth do I get them to display as they do in the demo/template.  For example article picture, summary etc?

3.  As we are going to be adding news all the time, is there a better way than constantly writing articles and placing them in these positions.  For example if we are writing news about what is happening every couple of days is there a better solution and how would we go about do this?

The rest of the site is working well, and friends have checked the site from various locations, computers and devices. With no dramas, it's just this one issue that has got me beat now.  Site address is www.thaiguardians.com

Does anyone know the answer to these questions?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hell wartlier,

Sorry for the delay. For some reason the board didn't show as it had a new post in it.

1) In regards to your questions you keep mentioning "articles" but the content published to the user1-user6 positions on our demo is actually just custom HTML modules (which is essentially an article in module form)

So basically we have all the user positions and we are just publishing custom HTML content to each of these positions directly. I have attached a screenshot to see an example from the demo.

2) There is definitely an easier way to manage your "articles" and that is by using the "Component" to display your articles instead of custom HTML modules published to the user positions. There are tons of options for how you can have your articles displayed and this is all controlled directly by Joomla Settings in the Backend.
