: Suggestion: better translating support for WordPress themes
: raffychan October 06, 2013, 11:50:08 AM
Hi, I was not sure where to post, as this does count as a suggestion, but I'm not suggesting a template. I hope it's ok to post it here.
I noticed that WordPress themes strings (such as "written by", "posted in", "tagged", etc.) are in English language only and, by what I was able to see by searching this forum, code hacks are required to translate them into other languages. That's not good for non-expert coders and foreign customers.
I think you guys should consider adding a different language handling tool, such as .po/.mo files, that can be easily translated into different languages instead of digging into the code.
Thanks for your attention.

Totaly agreed

have to dig into your code to change some languages... worst, btw, it's not multi language ready...

Better multi-language support is already planned.  The admin portion of the framework is currently being redeveloped, once that's done it will be easier to figure out what steps need to be taken for full translation support.
