: YSlow Score of 64 - Why So Slow out of the box? : cspgsl November 03, 2013, 11:24:53 AM I loaded both the J2.5 and J3 versions of the Velocity template and ran YSlow on it from within Firebug. The question is, why is the template designed to be so slow from the start. Anything that is added to the design through personalizing it only adds to the degradation of the site.
Is this the standard we should expect from such good looking designs? What would you recommend to enhance the performance of this (and all other) templates from S5? A lot of these scores are based off the htaccess file included with Joomla. Other things to take into account would be how well everything is compressed.
