Dear support team,

We pasted the Google Analytics tracking code to the Template Manager>General> SCRIPT TO BE APPENDED TO THE BOTTOM OF INDEX.PHP SUCH AS GOOGLE ANALYTICS field.

However it does not show up on home page or content pages.

Is this a known bug? I have seen this issue in forums of other templates as well.

What is the solution (apart from pasting it directly in the index.php?)?

Hello,

That would most likely be an issue with the script. Try adding it directly in the index.php before the closing </body> tag to verify the script is functional. That is all the Template Manager is doing is just making that automatic.

When I add the tracking code in the template's index.php, it is visible in the page source.

I can now report that when I add the tracking code in the template's index.php, it is visible in the page source AND Google Analytics is receiving data.

So the tracking code is correct. have you come across another reason why the tracking code is not added by the template manager?

Hello,

I tested it on my copy and it was working properly. Adding it via the index.php directly should be fine as well and will make it more secure to not have users being able to edit that via the back end.

OK, we will leave it this way for now. I will ask a develop to check and debug the site and when it is clear why the option through the template manager is not working we will post the info and hopefully solution here, for other users.
