: Ipad menu problems and club access issues

Heys

I have a problem with the menu for Ipads, it seems that they have to hit that tiny little arrow on the menu with submenu?s, and not only the button itself to get the curtain with submenus to drop, is there a fix to that?

Also, when searching the forum, to find a solution myself before asking, if I find a related topic and open that in a new tab, I constanly get an error about "club access" despite the fact that Im opening a "Wordpress club" topic...

I don't use any Apple products, so I have no way of testing the menu thing, but I'll forward your post to someone who might be able to test it.  The board access thing is also something I have no control over, but that can also be handled by who I intend to forward the notification e-mail to.

I don?t either, but some of our readers do apparently, and wont buy an Android product it seems :(

Thanks, will look forward to a Ipod geek answer :)

This is the response I got regarding the issues you mentioned.  Hopefully it helps.

Hey Tristan,

That's not an iPad 'issue', that's exactly what it's supposed to do. The menu link is split into two parts, the text itself and the arrow. If the parent link is actually a link that opens a page then making the entire link clickable to open the sub means that there is no way to open that link anymore on tablets, ie: it would only open the sub menu and you'd have no way to open the link that the item itself is associated to. So when it's an actual link the arrow opens the sub page and the text still opens the link. If it's not a link, like a menu separator or a call javascript:; then the entire link (text and arrow) will open the sub, that's generally what I tell people to do if they're concerned about this.

So if I had a link called 'Tutorials' that led to the tutorials page and next to that I had a sub arrow, the arrow would open the sub menu and the text 'Tutorials' would open the tutorials page. If Tutorials was simply a separator menu item then both the text and the arrow would open the sub menu.

For the forum issue it sounds like he's got a session issue on his machine. He should logout, clear his cookies and log back in.
